Give me objectivity, give me integrity, give me liberty!
The Founders were deists. They were men of faith who showed fidelity to reality: freedom cannot coexist with faith-based law and government.
Republicans –
Honor the separation of church and state - every individual must be free to have private faith or no faith. Prevent the moral descendants of “the sun revolves around the Earth” tyrants from wielding coercive power to impose their moral values.
Honor the principle of individual rights. For the same reason that it mandates the separation of church and state, it also mandates the separation of state and economics, the separation of state and science, the separation of state and education, the separation of state and art. The Declaration of Independence is clear: the only purpose of law and of government is “… to secure these rights…”
If the GOP falls to the theocracy warriors: the party’s 2012 presidential nominee will be Governor Sarah Palin.
If the party sticks to its big-tent policy – devoid of principles, honesty, courage, and integrity - the GOP’s 2012 presidential nominee will be Governor Mike Huckabee. I predicted this in Royal Serf.
A political party of freedom defenders must boot out theocracy warriors as well as regulation dictators. Otherwise, it is a big tent of dishonesty.
Sons and daughters of Liberty: rise and mutually pledge to each other your lives, your fortunes, and your sacred honor - that the nation conceived in Reason and Liberty shall not perish from the Earth.
