Jeffersonian Party

"The ground of liberty is to be gained by inches… It takes time to persuade men to do even what is for their own good." "The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.” "It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

Mission

   a) Find and support Jeffersonians.
   b) Spread Jeffersonian principles.

Platform

1) Non-contradictory principles based on the following:

       • The Declaration of Independence
       • Equal inherent inalienable rights
       • Reality, logic, reason, and science

The principles on which we engaged, of which the charter of our independence is the record, were sanctioned by the laws of our being… Man [is] a rational animal, endowed by nature with rights… A free people [claim] their rights as derived from the laws of nature…” - Thomas Jefferson

"The most sacred of the duties of a government [is] to do equal and impartial justice to all its citizens…. Equal rights for all, special privileges for none.” – Thomas Jefferson

2) Government should not use force against rights respecters.

Rights are actions that can be exercised without anyone’s permission, limited only by the equal rights of others.

"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." – Thomas Jefferson

3) Respect of the freedom of conscience.

“No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him." – Thomas Jefferson

One's personal stand on anything is no one's business. The Jeffersonian Party fights only those who propose to “commit aggression on the equal rights of another.”

The Jeffersonian Party is pro-life and pro-choice. They are not contradictory. The embryo has no brain activity, so it is not yet an actual living human being; hence, it has no rights. An embryo is up to 8 weeks. The central nervous system [CNS] is fully formed at 9 weeks. The fetus takes its first breath at 10 weeks. At this stage, the unborn is an actual living human being, thus, has rights.

4) Passion for the first principle of association: “the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it."

"The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits." – Thomas Jefferson

5) Adherence to Republicanism and good government.

Thomas Jefferson’s Republicanism:

1) That there exists a right independent of force;

2) That a RIGHT to PROPERTY is founded in our natural wants, in the means with which we are endowed to satisfy these wants, and the right to what we acquire by those means without violating the similar rights of other sensible beings;

3) That NO ONE HAS A RIGHT TO OBSTRUCT ANOTHER exercising his faculties innocently for the relief of sensibilities made a part of his nature;

4) That justice is the fundamental law of society;

5) That the majority, oppressing an individual, is guilty of a crime, abuses its strength, and by acting on the law of the strongest, breaks up the foundations of society;

6) That action by the citizens in person, in affairs within their reach and competence, and in all others by representatives chosen immediately and removable by themselves.

“A wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.” – Thomas Jefferson

"The principles of Jefferson are the definitions and axioms of free society... This is a world of compensation; and he who would be no slave must consent to have no slave. Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves, and, under a just God, cannot long retain it. All honor to Jefferson -- to the man, who in the concrete pressure of a struggle for national independence by a single people, had the coolness, forecast, and sagacity to introduce into a merely revolutionary document an abstract truth, applicable to all men and all times, and so embalm it there that to-day and in all coming days it shall be a rebuke and a stumbling-block to the very harbingers of reappearing tyranny and oppression." – Abraham Lincoln

"William Hyland, Jr., talked about his book In Defense of Thomas Jefferson: The Sally Hemmings Sex Scandal (Thomas Dunne Books; June 9, 2009). In his book the former prosecutor argues that Thomas Jefferson did not have a affair with Sally Hemmings nor fathered her child."

Scholars Challenge Jefferson-Hemings Allegations

The National Association of Scholars

A careful, year-long analysis of claims that Thomas Jefferson fathered one or more children of his slave, Sally Hemings, has yielded stunning conclusions. In a stark challenge to earlier reports, all but one of the 13 scholars expressed considerable skepticism about the charge, and some went so far as to express a conviction that it is almost certainly not true.

The Fable of Tom and Sally
By James P. Lucier

According to Insight Magazine, the claim that Thomas Jefferson fathered children with his slave Sally Hemings has been shown to be baseless by a learned group of the nation's most distinguished scholars.

"The right to be free comes from nature." - Thomas Jefferson

Against all odds, John Adams set out and achieved a resolution for independence.

Hi Frank. I am not a sole proprietor; I'm an employee. So, I can't be involved in forming a real political party, and I can't be involved in a real campaign.

I won't vote for Christie ever, and I hope not to vote for Obama's candidate in order to defeat Christie. I hope you run, and I hope it is based on a Jeffersonian platform. I hope Jeffersonians in all the states stand up.

George Washington had a ragtag army, and they defeated a mighty empire.
