Romney will NOT Commit the 2008 Mistake of McCain

The "Romney fails to connect" ploy is purposed to make Mitt Romney commit the 2008 mistake of John McCain: embrace the ANTI separation of church and state.

The ONLY connection a moral person must make is to the Declaration of Independence and its defenders.

"The obligation to SERVE one another..."

The ONLY obligation of a FREE man is to respect equal inherent inalienable rights.

"Of all the tyrannies that affect mankind, tyranny in religion is the worst." - Thomas Paine

“Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise, every expanded prospect.” - James Madison

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legiti...mate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a WALL of SEPARATION between Church & State." - Thomas Jefferson

FREEDOM means the absence of coercion. Since government is force, government should be separated from acts or words that are not injurious to others, like faith exercised by private individuals, like economics, science, education, art, etc. Freedom includes justice, like presumption of innocence and due process of law.

Wielders of legal coercive power have no right to impose religion-based values: "I consider the Government of the United States as interdicted by the Constitution of the United States from meddling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises.... Civil powers alone have been given to the President of the United States, and no authority to direct the religious exercises of his constituents." - Thomas Jefferson

Public is different from government. There are religious events on tv - they are public. So long as they are not sponsored or directed by the government, they should be free.

Romney is FOR the separation of church and state. Santorum is AGAINST Thomas Jefferson's wall of separation.

That should preclude those who have redefined conservatism to mean DARK-AGES. That should preclude the anti wall of separation between chuch and state. That should preclude the corrupt and those who favor economic regulations.

"The affluent are another matter. Republicans have been losing ground with them since the 1990s. Non-Southern suburban counties whose big majorities delivered electoral votes to George H.W. Bush in 1988 have been trending to Democrats, as affluent suburbanites, especially women, were repelled by Republicans' stands on cultural issues like abortion and by the increasing Southern and evangelical tone of the party.

The four suburban counties outside Philadelphia, for example, voted 61 percent for Bush in 1988, and he carried Pennsylvania.

In 2008, they voted 57 percent for Barack Obama, and he carried the state."
